SCRUBBED PRIVACY NOTICE
Last updated: 28 September 2026
Version: 1.0
PLAIN-LANGUAGE SUMMARY
Scrubbed is a digital surgical logbook and professional development platform operated by Dumpy Devs Ltd ("Scrubbed", "we", "us" or "our").
Scrubbed is designed to allow surgeons and surgical trainees to maintain a personal record of their operative experience and professional development.
The most important things you should know are:
Scrubbed is not a patient record. Do not enter patient-identifiable information.
You are responsible for ensuring that information you enter is appropriately de-identified and complies with your professional, employer and legal obligations.
Your Scrubbed account contains personal information about you, including your account information, professional details and records of your professional activity.
Surgical records may necessarily contain clinical information about procedures and cases. This must not include information that directly identifies a patient or information from which a patient could reasonably be identified.
We use third-party infrastructure and service providers, including Supabase, to operate Scrubbed.
We may use providers for authentication, email delivery, infrastructure, analytics, security and error monitoring. We aim to minimise the information disclosed to those providers and will maintain information about material providers and subprocessors.
We do not sell your personal information.
We do not use your private surgical logbook content for advertising.
Non-essential cookies and similar technologies will be managed in accordance with applicable law and, where required, your choices.
You can request access to, correction of, export of or deletion of your personal information, subject to applicable law.
Maintain your own appropriate backup or export of important professional records. Scrubbed should not be the sole repository of records you require for training, appraisal, revalidation, credentialing, employment, regulatory or legal purposes.
Deleting your account is intended to remove your account and user content from active systems. Limited residual copies may remain temporarily in backups, security logs or records we are legally required to retain.
No online service can guarantee absolute security or uninterrupted availability.
This summary is intended to make the key points easy to understand. The full Privacy Notice below provides the detailed information required about our processing of personal information.
1. WHO WE ARE
Scrubbed is operated by Dumpy Devs Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales.
For most personal information described in this Privacy Notice, Dumpy Devs Ltd is the data controller. This means that we determine the purposes and means of processing that information.
Our service providers may process personal information on our behalf as data processors. Some providers may act as independent controllers for limited processing undertaken for their own lawful purposes. Where this is material to users, we will identify it in our privacy or subprocessor information.
Privacy and data-protection enquiries should be sent to:
info@scrubbedlog.com
2. SCRUBBED'S INTENDED PURPOSE
Intended Purpose
Scrubbed is a digital surgical logbook and professional development platform intended for use by surgeons and surgical trainees to record, organise, review and export information about their operative experience and continuing professional development.
Scrubbed enables users to maintain a personal record of procedures, clinical experience, supervision and learning activities; search and analyse their recorded experience; generate summaries and reports for training, appraisal, revalidation and professional development; and reflect on patterns within their own practice.
Scrubbed is not intended to function as a patient medical record, electronic health record, clinical decision-support system or diagnostic tool. It is not intended to provide recommendations about the diagnosis, treatment or management of individual patients.
Users should not enter information that directly identifies a patient. Responsibility for ensuring that information entered into Scrubbed is appropriately de-identified remains with the user.
3. SCOPE
This Privacy Notice applies to personal information processed in connection with the Scrubbed website, web application, mobile applications, account registration and authentication, surgical logbook functionality, continuing professional development functionality, reports and exports, customer and technical support, security and fraud prevention, communications from Scrubbed, and other Scrubbed services referring to this Privacy Notice.
Third-party websites and services have their own privacy practices. This Notice does not govern processing independently undertaken by those organisations outside the Scrubbed service.
4. INFORMATION WE PROCESS
4.1 Account information
We may process your name; email address; internal user/account identifiers; authentication information; account status; registration date; login and authentication events; and information necessary for account security and recovery.
Authentication credentials are handled through our authentication infrastructure. We do not intend to store or have access to your plaintext password.
4.2 Professional profile information
This may include professional registration number; specialty and subspecialty; grade, training level or professional role; hospitals or organisations at which you work; professional qualifications; training information; and other information you choose to add to your professional profile.
4.3 Surgical logbook information
Information you choose to record may include procedure; procedure date; hospital or institution; specialty/subspecialty; operative role; supervision level; procedural classifications; anatomy, pathology or method classifications; case reference; notes; and other information relating to your professional experience.
Scrubbed is designed to record your professional experience, not a patient's medical record.
4.4 CPD and professional-development information
This may include activity type; date and time; learning activity; courses or meetings; teaching; assessments or professional discussions; reflective notes; and other information you choose to record.
4.5 Technical, diagnostic and security information
We may automatically process information including IP address; device type; browser; operating system; application version; timestamps; authentication events; session information; security events; network and request metadata; crash information; diagnostic information; and information reasonably required to identify malicious, fraudulent or unauthorised activity.
4.6 Communications and support
If you contact us, we may process your contact information, correspondence, support requests, bug reports, feedback, and information reasonably required to investigate and respond.
Do not send patient-identifiable information to Scrubbed support.
4.7 Analytics
Where analytics are used, information may include screens/pages viewed; features used; interaction events; session information; general device information; and aggregated or pseudonymised usage patterns.
We intend to configure analytics so that the content of surgical case entries, CPD notes and other private user-generated professional records is not intentionally sent to general product-analytics providers.
5. PATIENT INFORMATION: IMPORTANT RESTRICTION
5.1 Scrubbed is not a patient-record system
Scrubbed is designed to record the user's professional experience.
You must not intentionally enter information that directly identifies a patient or information from which a patient could reasonably be identified.
Examples include patient names; identifying initials; NHS or other national healthcare numbers; hospital or medical-record numbers; addresses; telephone numbers; email addresses; full dates of birth; identifying photographs; patient labels; copies of medical records; correspondence containing patient identifiers; or free-text information or combinations of information that would reasonably enable identification of an individual patient.
Whether information is identifying can depend upon context. Removing a patient's name does not necessarily make information anonymous.
Users should enter only the minimum case information reasonably necessary for maintaining their professional logbook.
5.2 Clinical information within a surgical logbook
A surgical logbook will necessarily record information about clinical procedures and experience.
The prohibition above does not mean that users cannot record appropriately de-identified information such as procedure type, operative role, broad pathology or other information necessary to describe professional experience.
Users remain responsible for determining whether the information they enter is appropriately de-identified and lawful to record.
5.3 Your responsibility
You are responsible for complying with applicable confidentiality duties, data-protection law, professional standards, employer policies, healthcare organisation policies, and contractual obligations.
The availability of a field within Scrubbed does not mean that any particular information is necessarily appropriate or lawful to enter into that field.
5.4 Accidental entry
If you discover that you have accidentally entered patient-identifiable information, you should remove it promptly.
If you cannot remove it, or believe that its entry may constitute a confidentiality or data-protection incident, contact info@scrubbedlog.com.
We may take reasonable steps to contain, investigate and remediate such an incident.
6. IMAGES, SCANNING AND TEMPORARY PROCESSING
Where Scrubbed provides scanning, optical recognition, import or similar functionality, the feature must not be used deliberately to capture patient-identifiable information unless we expressly state that the particular feature has been designed and approved for that purpose; users should check source material before submitting it; temporary processing does not turn Scrubbed into a patient-record system; and users remain responsible for complying with confidentiality and data-protection obligations.
Where a feature is designed so that source images are processed temporarily and are not intentionally retained as part of the user's account, we will describe that behaviour at the point of use.
Technical systems may nevertheless require transient processing in device memory, network infrastructure or other temporary technical components in order to perform the requested function.
7. OUR PURPOSES AND LAWFUL BASES
Providing your Scrubbed account and service
Purpose: account creation, authentication, storing records, search, synchronisation, exports, reports and requested functionality.
Lawful basis: performance of our contract with you.
Account security and prevention of misuse
Purpose: detecting unauthorised access, abuse, attacks, fraud and security incidents.
Lawful basis: our legitimate interests in protecting Scrubbed, its users and our systems; and, where applicable, compliance with legal obligations.
Service reliability and error diagnosis
Purpose: identifying faults, crashes, performance problems and technical failures.
Lawful basis: our legitimate interests in maintaining a secure and reliable service and, where processing is necessary to provide the contracted service, performance of our contract with you.
Product improvement
Purpose: understanding how Scrubbed is used and improving its functionality.
Lawful basis: legitimate interests where appropriate, or consent where required by applicable law for the relevant technology.
Communications
Purpose: account notices, security communications, service information and responding to enquiries.
Lawful basis: performance of our contract, legitimate interests, or legal obligations depending upon the communication.
Marketing
Where we undertake electronic direct marketing, we will do so only where permitted by applicable law and will provide the required choices and unsubscribe mechanisms.
Legal and regulatory compliance
Purpose: complying with applicable law, responding to lawful requests, maintaining necessary records and establishing, exercising or defending legal claims.
Lawful basis: legal obligation and/or legitimate interests, as appropriate.
Where we rely upon legitimate interests, we consider the necessity of the processing and its impact upon individuals' rights and interests.
8. SPECIAL-CATEGORY INFORMATION
Scrubbed is not intended to collect identifiable patient health information.
Information about your own health, ethnicity, religion or other special-category characteristics is not ordinarily required to use Scrubbed and should not be entered unless a particular feature expressly requests it and provides appropriate information about the processing.
If prohibited information is nevertheless entered contrary to these Terms, this does not mean that we intended or invited that processing.
Where we become aware that special-category personal information has been inadvertently received, we will handle it in accordance with applicable data-protection obligations and may delete it where appropriate.
9. SUPABASE
Scrubbed uses Supabase as a material technology provider.
Depending upon our production configuration, Supabase may provide database infrastructure, authentication, APIs, storage, backup/recovery infrastructure, security functions, and related backend services.
For personal information that Supabase processes on our behalf in providing those services, Dumpy Devs Ltd remains responsible for determining the purposes for which Scrubbed processes that information and Supabase acts as our processor, subject to the applicable contractual arrangements.
Supabase may engage its own authorised subprocessors.
Our production deployment, data region and contractual arrangements will be configured and documented as appropriate before production use.
10. OTHER PROCESSORS AND SUBPROCESSORS
We may use carefully selected providers for hosting and infrastructure; databases; authentication; transactional email; content delivery; network and application security; analytics; error/crash monitoring; communications; customer support; payments, if paid functionality is introduced; and other services necessary to operate Scrubbed.
We will maintain a current list of material processors/subprocessors at:
the Subprocessor Register on this page
That information should identify, where appropriate, provider; service provided; categories of information involved; processing location; and applicable international-transfer arrangements.
We require processors handling personal information on our behalf to do so under appropriate contractual and data-protection obligations.
Providers may change as Scrubbed develops. We will update our published information where required.
11. ANALYTICS AND ERROR MONITORING
Analytics
We may use analytics to understand aggregate use of Scrubbed and improve the product.
We aim to practise data minimisation and will not intentionally include the substantive content of private surgical records or CPD notes in general product analytics.
Where applicable law requires a user choice before analytics technologies operate, we will provide that choice.
Error monitoring
Error-monitoring providers may receive technical information including application/browser version; device information; operating system; timestamps; error messages; stack traces; request metadata; and technical information surrounding an error.
We will configure error monitoring to redact or exclude user-generated content and sensitive information where reasonably practicable.
No monitoring configuration can substitute for the user's obligation not to enter prohibited patient-identifiable information.
Current providers will be identified in our subprocessor information.
12. COOKIES AND SIMILAR TECHNOLOGIES
Scrubbed may use cookies, browser storage, SDKs and other storage or access technologies.
Strictly necessary technologies may be used for authentication, maintaining secure sessions, account security, fraud prevention, load balancing, remembering privacy choices, and providing functions expressly requested by the user.
Where permitted by applicable law, technologies strictly necessary to provide a requested service may operate without consent.
Other technologies may be used to measure service usage or improve Scrubbed. Where applicable law requires consent or another user choice, Scrubbed will provide an appropriate mechanism.
Our cookie information will identify, as applicable, technology/cookie name; provider; purpose; category; and duration.
Users will be able to revisit applicable choices through the Cookie and Browser Storage Register on this page.
Rejecting optional technologies will not prevent access to core Scrubbed functionality.
13. SECURITY
We use technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal information proportionately to the risks involved.
Depending upon our production architecture, these may include encryption in transit; encryption at rest; application-level or end-to-end encryption where implemented; strong authentication; passkeys and/or multi-factor authentication; access controls; least-privilege principles; database row-level security; separation of user records; security monitoring; secure software-development practices; dependency and vulnerability management; backup and recovery measures; and incident-response procedures.
No system is completely secure.
We therefore cannot guarantee that unauthorised access, loss, misuse or other security incidents will never occur.
14. ENCRYPTION AND OUR ABILITY TO ACCESS DATA
We will describe Scrubbed's encryption architecture accurately.
We will not describe information as "end-to-end encrypted" if Scrubbed or its service providers retain the technical means routinely to decrypt it.
Where encryption is designed so that Scrubbed does not possess the relevant decryption key, users should understand that loss of credentials, keys or recovery mechanisms may result in permanent loss of access to information.
Any account-recovery mechanism and its security consequences will be explained where relevant.
15. PERSONAL DATA BREACHES
We maintain procedures intended to identify, investigate and respond to personal-data and security incidents.
Where a personal-data breach occurs, we will assess the nature of the information involved; individuals potentially affected; likelihood and severity of potential harm; and our notification obligations.
Where required by applicable law, we will notify the Information Commissioner's Office or another competent supervisory authority and affected individuals within the applicable timescales.
Users should report suspected security incidents promptly to info@scrubbedlog.com.
16. BACKUPS AND PROFESSIONAL RECORD KEEPING
We may maintain infrastructure backups for resilience and disaster recovery.
Those backups are not a personal archival service.
You remain responsible for retaining records necessary for training; appraisal; revalidation; credentialing; professional registration; employment; medico-legal purposes; and other professional or legal requirements.
You should periodically export important records and store them securely.
We do not guarantee that an individual deleted, corrupted or lost record can be restored from an infrastructure backup.
17. RETENTION
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the relevant purpose.
Our production retention schedule will be maintained and reviewed.
Active accounts
Account information and user-created records will normally remain available while the account is active.
Individual records deleted by users
Deleted records will cease to be available through the ordinary user interface once deletion is processed. Residual copies may remain temporarily in backup or recovery systems until those systems rotate or expire.
Account deletion
When account deletion becomes effective, we will remove or irreversibly de-identify the user's account information and user content from ordinary active production systems, except where limited retention is necessary for a legitimate legal, security or operational purpose.
Production targets:
Deletion from active systems: [X days]
Ordinary backup expiry: [X days]
Security/audit log retention: [X days/months]
Support correspondence: [X months/years]
These periods will be finalised against the actual production architecture.
Legal/security records
We may retain limited information for longer where reasonably necessary to comply with law; prevent fraud or abuse; document security incidents; establish, exercise or defend legal claims; or maintain required financial or corporate records.
Where possible, such information will be minimised and segregated from ordinary active account data.
Restored backups
If a disaster-recovery backup containing previously deleted information is restored, we will take reasonable technical and organisational measures to ensure that information already scheduled for deletion is not unintentionally returned to ordinary active use.
18. DELETING YOUR ACCOUNT
Users may request deletion through Settings → Account → Delete Account or by contacting info@scrubbedlog.com.
We may verify that a request was made by the account holder.
You should export information you wish to retain before requesting deletion.
Following any clearly disclosed security/recovery period, deletion may be irreversible.
Infrastructure backups are not ordinarily restored merely to retrieve or individually delete one user's information. Information in those backups will expire according to the applicable backup lifecycle and will not ordinarily be returned to active use except as necessary for legitimate disaster recovery.
19. INTERNATIONAL TRANSFERS
Some service providers or subprocessors may process information outside the United Kingdom.
Where a restricted transfer occurs, we will use a lawful transfer mechanism where required, such as UK adequacy regulations; the UK International Data Transfer Agreement; an applicable UK Addendum to approved Standard Contractual Clauses; or another lawful safeguard.
Further information about material international processing and applicable safeguards may be obtained by contacting info@scrubbedlog.com.
20. WHEN WE DISCLOSE INFORMATION
We may disclose personal information to processors required to operate Scrubbed; at your instruction; where required by applicable law, court order or lawful regulatory process; where reasonably necessary to investigate fraud, abuse or security incidents; to establish, exercise or defend legal claims; to professional advisers subject to appropriate duties of confidentiality; or in connection with a genuine corporate transaction such as a merger, restructuring, investment, acquisition or sale of the Scrubbed business, subject to applicable safeguards.
We do not sell personal information.
21. YOUR RIGHTS
Depending upon the circumstances and applicable law, you may have rights to access personal information; correct inaccurate information; request erasure; restrict processing; object to processing; receive certain information in a portable format; withdraw consent where consent is the lawful basis; and exercise rights relating to qualifying automated decision-making.
These rights are not absolute and statutory exemptions may apply.
Requests can be sent to info@scrubbedlog.com.
We may need to verify your identity before responding.
Right to object
Where we process your personal information on the basis of legitimate interests, you have the right to object to that processing in circumstances provided by data-protection law.
Where personal information is processed for direct marketing, you have the right to object to that processing.
22. COMPLAINTS
Please contact us first if you have concerns about how we handle your information:
info@scrubbedlog.com
You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK supervisory authority for data protection, or another competent supervisory authority where applicable.
23. AUTOMATED AND AI-ASSISTED FEATURES
Scrubbed may provide optional functionality that analyses, classifies, summarises or generates information from a user's professional records.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, such functionality is intended to assist users with professional record keeping and reflection.
It is not intended to make decisions about patient diagnosis; patient treatment; clinical management; fitness to practise; employment; credentialing; or regulatory status.
Automated outputs may contain errors and should be reviewed by the user.
Before introducing functionality involving disclosure of user information to an external AI provider, we will assess the data-protection implications, determine appropriate contractual and technical safeguards and update relevant privacy information as required.
24. RESEARCH, AGGREGATE INFORMATION AND PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT
We may generate statistical or aggregate information about the operation and use of Scrubbed where individuals are not identifiable.
Information that has been irreversibly anonymised so that it is no longer personal information may be used for legitimate purposes including service development, statistical analysis and understanding patterns of use.
We will not represent merely pseudonymised information as anonymous.
Private user logbook content will not be sold to third parties.
We will not use identifiable private logbook content for unrelated research or train third-party general-purpose AI models on it without an appropriate legal basis and appropriate transparency and safeguards.
25. CHILDREN
Scrubbed is intended for surgical professionals and other appropriately authorised professional users. It is not directed at children.
26. CHANGES TO THIS NOTICE
We may update this Notice as Scrubbed, its providers or applicable law changes.
Each version will display an effective date and version number.
Where a change materially affects how we process personal information, we will provide additional notice where required.
Previous versions may be retained for governance and accountability.

SCRUBBED TERMS OF USE
Last updated: 28 September 2026
Version: 1.0
PLAIN-LANGUAGE SUMMARY
These Terms govern your use of Scrubbed, which is operated by Dumpy Devs Ltd.
The key points are:
1. Scrubbed is a surgical logbook and professional-development platform. It is not a patient medical record or clinical decision-support system.
2. You must not enter patient-identifiable information.
3. You are responsible for ensuring that information you enter is appropriately de-identified.
4. You are responsible for the accuracy of your professional records and for reviewing automatically generated or suggested information.
5. You remain responsible for complying with your professional, employer, regulatory and legal obligations.
6. Maintain an independent backup/export of important professional records. Scrubbed should not be your only copy.
7. You are responsible for keeping your account and exported files secure.
8. Scrubbed relies on internet services and third-party infrastructure and cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability.
9. Beta and experimental features may change and may contain errors.
10. Automated or AI-generated output must be reviewed by you and must not be relied upon for patient diagnosis or treatment.
11. You retain your rights in the information you enter. You give us the limited rights necessary to operate Scrubbed.
12. You can stop using Scrubbed and request deletion of your account.
The complete Terms below form the agreement between you and Dumpy Devs Ltd.
1. ABOUT US AND THESE TERMS
Scrubbed is operated by Dumpy Devs Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales.
Contact:
info@scrubbedlog.com
These Terms ("Terms") govern access to and use of the Scrubbed website, applications and related services ("Scrubbed" or the "Service").
By creating an account and accepting these Terms, you enter into a legally binding agreement with Dumpy Devs Ltd.
If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not create or continue to use a Scrubbed account.
2. INTENDED PURPOSE
3. ELIGIBILITY AND PROFESSIONAL USE
You may use Scrubbed only if you have legal capacity to enter this agreement; your use is lawful; you provide materially accurate account information; and you are entitled to record and use the professional information you enter.
You must not impersonate another person or knowingly misrepresent professional credentials.
Scrubbed may be used by surgical professionals at different career stages. Availability of the Service does not constitute verification of a user's professional status, registration, competence or authority to practise.
4. YOUR ACCOUNT
You must take reasonable steps to protect your account.
You must keep authentication credentials secure; not knowingly permit unauthorised use of your account; protect devices used to access Scrubbed; use appropriate security when accessing Scrubbed on shared or institutional computers; log out where appropriate; and notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.
Where stronger authentication options such as passkeys or multi-factor authentication are available, we strongly recommend their use.
If Scrubbed permits you to select a less secure authentication method, your choice does not reduce any security obligations imposed upon us by law.
You are responsible for activity deliberately undertaken through your account and for activity resulting from your failure to take reasonable account-security precautions, but you are not responsible for unauthorised activity caused by a security failure for which we are legally responsible.
5. PATIENT-IDENTIFIABLE INFORMATION IS PROHIBITED
5.1 Fundamental condition of use
SCRUBBED MUST NOT BE USED AS A PATIENT MEDICAL RECORD.
You must not intentionally enter information that directly identifies a patient or information from which a patient could reasonably be identified.
This includes, without limitation: patient names; identifying initials; NHS numbers; hospital/medical-record numbers; addresses; telephone numbers; email addresses; full dates of birth; identifying photographs; patient labels; identifiable clinical documents; and free text or combinations of information that would reasonably allow a patient to be identified.
Removing a patient's name does not necessarily make information anonymous or sufficiently de-identified.
5.2 Minimum necessary information
You should enter only information reasonably necessary to maintain your professional record.
5.3 Responsibility
You are responsible for ensuring that information you enter complies with applicable confidentiality duties; data-protection law; professional standards; employer requirements; healthcare organisation policies; and contractual obligations.
The existence of a field in Scrubbed does not constitute advice or confirmation that particular information may lawfully be entered into it.
Scrubbed's encryption or other security measures do not constitute permission to enter information prohibited by these Terms.
5.4 Accidental entry
If you accidentally enter prohibited patient information, you must remove it promptly.
If you cannot remove it, or believe a confidentiality or data-protection incident may have occurred, contact info@scrubbedlog.com.
We may remove or restrict access to prohibited information and may take reasonable action necessary to investigate, contain or remediate a potential incident.
6. CASE REFERENCES
Any case-reference feature is intended to allow users to distinguish professional logbook entries without entering patient identifiers.
You must not use a case-reference field to store an NHS number; hospital number; medical-record number; patient initials where identifying; or another patient identifier.
A Scrubbed-generated reference is an internal professional logbook reference only. It is not a clinical identifier and does not replace any record maintained by a healthcare provider.
7. IMAGES, SCANNING, IMPORTS AND AUTOMATED EXTRACTION
If Scrubbed provides image scanning, document import, optical recognition or automated extraction, you must check source material before submitting it; you must not deliberately submit identifiable patient material unless the particular feature expressly states that it is designed and authorised for such use; you must review extracted information before saving it; automatically extracted information may contain errors; and you remain responsible for information ultimately stored in your account.
A feature that processes an image temporarily does not make Scrubbed a patient-record system.
8. ACCURACY AND INTEGRITY OF YOUR PROFESSIONAL RECORD
Scrubbed records information supplied, selected or confirmed by users.
You are responsible for accuracy of entries; procedure classification; operative role; supervision level; dates and other professional information; correcting errors; checking imported information; reviewing automated suggestions; and ensuring that reports or exports accurately represent your experience before submitting them elsewhere.
Scrubbed does not independently verify that a procedure occurred; you participated in it; your recorded role is correct; a supervisor approved an entry; or your recorded experience demonstrates a particular level of competence.
Unless a specific verification feature expressly states otherwise, a Scrubbed report records information contained in your account and is not certification by Dumpy Devs Ltd of your professional experience or competence.
9. PROFESSIONAL OBLIGATIONS
Scrubbed assists with professional record keeping. It does not assume your professional responsibilities.
You remain responsible for determining and meeting requirements imposed by employers; healthcare organisations; training programmes; Royal Colleges and equivalent bodies; professional regulators; appraisal and revalidation bodies; credentialing organisations; insurers and medical defence organisations; and applicable law.
We do not warrant that any particular Scrubbed report or export will satisfy a particular organisation's requirements.
10. NOT A CLINICAL OR SAFETY-CRITICAL SYSTEM
You must not use or rely upon Scrubbed to diagnose a patient; select treatment; determine clinical management; prescribe medication; store the primary patient record; provide clinical handover; communicate urgent clinical information; replace an electronic patient record; or perform any function where immediate availability or accuracy of Scrubbed is necessary for patient safety.
Scrubbed is not designed or supplied as an emergency or safety-critical clinical system.
11. YOUR CONTENT
"User Content" means information and material you lawfully enter into Scrubbed.
As between you and us, you retain your rights in your User Content.
You grant Dumpy Devs Ltd a non-exclusive licence to process User Content only to the extent reasonably necessary to provide Scrubbed; host and store it; secure it; transmit and synchronise it; display it to you; perform functions you request; generate requested reports and exports; maintain legitimate backups and disaster-recovery systems; investigate technical or security problems; and otherwise perform activities described in our Privacy Notice or authorised by you.
This licence ends when the relevant content is deleted from our systems, subject to legitimate backup, legal, security and retention requirements described in the Privacy Notice.
Storing User Content in Scrubbed does not transfer ownership of that content to Dumpy Devs Ltd.
12. OUR ACCESS TO USER CONTENT
Our technical ability to access User Content will depend upon Scrubbed's production encryption architecture.
Where our systems are technically capable of accessing User Content, authorised access will be limited to circumstances reasonably necessary for purposes such as providing support at your request; maintaining security; investigating suspected misuse or incidents; complying with law; or maintaining and operating the Service.
Access will be subject to appropriate controls.
Where technical architecture prevents us from accessing encrypted User Content, we may be unable to assist you in recovering it.
13. ACCEPTABLE USE
You must not use Scrubbed unlawfully; deliberately enter prohibited patient-identifiable information; access or attempt to access another user's account or records without authority; share authentication credentials inappropriately; circumvent security or access controls; interfere with Scrubbed's operation; introduce malware or malicious code; undertake unauthorised vulnerability scanning or penetration testing; scrape, crawl or systematically extract the Service in a manner that materially burdens or compromises it; use Scrubbed to falsify professional experience; deliberately create misleading professional records; misrepresent a Scrubbed report as independent verification where it is not; infringe another person's intellectual-property or other rights; or use Scrubbed for a purpose materially inconsistent with its intended purpose.
14. EXPORTS AND YOUR BACKUP OBLIGATION
Scrubbed may allow you to export professional records.
You must maintain appropriate independent copies of important professional information.
You should not rely upon Scrubbed as your sole permanent repository for records needed for training progression; ARCP or equivalent assessment; appraisal; revalidation; employment; credentialing; professional registration; insurance; medico-legal purposes; or other important professional requirements.
Infrastructure backups maintained by Scrubbed exist primarily for service resilience and disaster recovery.
They are not an individual-user archival or backup service.
We do not promise that an individual deleted, corrupted or unavailable record can be restored from those backups.
You are responsible for protecting information after exporting it from Scrubbed.
15. SERVICE AVAILABILITY
We will use reasonable care and skill in providing the Service.
However, an internet-based service cannot be guaranteed to operate continuously or without error.
Scrubbed may be unavailable because of planned maintenance; emergency maintenance; upgrades; security measures; infrastructure failure; third-party service failure; internet or telecommunications failure; or events outside our reasonable control.
Where reasonably practicable, we will seek to minimise disruption.
Scrubbed must not be relied upon where immediate access to information is required for patient safety.
16. SECURITY
We use technical and organisational safeguards intended to protect Scrubbed and its users.
No online service is completely secure.
You acknowledge the inherent risks associated with internet-based systems, including software vulnerabilities, device compromise, credential theft and infrastructure failure.
Nothing in these Terms reduces any duty imposed upon us by applicable data-protection, consumer or other law.
17. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
Scrubbed relies upon third-party providers for elements of its operation.
These may include providers of infrastructure; databases; authentication; email; analytics; error monitoring; security; communications; and payments.
Supabase currently provides material backend infrastructure.
Our Privacy Notice explains how relevant providers process personal information.
We remain responsible for our own obligations in selecting, contracting with and configuring processors where applicable.
18. ALPHA, BETA, PREVIEW AND EXPERIMENTAL FUNCTIONALITY
Features labelled Alpha, Beta, Preview, Experimental or equivalent are under active development.
They may contain defects; change without the same notice applicable to established functionality; provide incomplete or inaccurate results; experience increased downtime; or be withdrawn.
Where such functionality contains important professional information, you should maintain an independent copy.
Participation in testing programmes does not remove any legal responsibility that we cannot lawfully exclude.
19. AI AND AUTOMATED FUNCTIONALITY
Scrubbed may provide functionality that classifies information; suggests procedures or categories; extracts information; identifies patterns; produces summaries; analyses professional activity; or assists reflection.
Automated outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete or inappropriate.
You are responsible for reviewing output before accepting it into your professional record; relying upon it; exporting it; submitting it to another organisation; or otherwise using it professionally.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, AI functionality is not clinical decision support and must not be used to determine patient diagnosis, treatment or management.
20. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
Scrubbed, including its software, branding, design, documentation and other intellectual property, is owned by or licensed to Dumpy Devs Ltd except for User Content and identified third-party material.
These Terms give you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use Scrubbed in accordance with these Terms while your account remains authorised.
They do not transfer ownership of Scrubbed's intellectual property to you.
Nothing in these Terms prevents you from using your own User Content independently of Scrubbed.
21. FEEDBACK
If you voluntarily provide suggestions, ideas or feedback about Scrubbed, you permit us to use that feedback to develop and improve the Service without an obligation to compensate you.
This does not transfer ownership of your User Content or confidential professional records to us.
22. CHARGES AND FUTURE PAID SERVICES
Scrubbed may provide free, trial and paid functionality.
If we introduce charges, applicable pricing, billing periods, cancellation rights and material payment terms will be disclosed before you commit to a paid service.
We will not impose a new recurring charge merely because these Terms contemplate paid functionality.
Where applicable law provides cancellation or other mandatory rights, those rights are unaffected.
23. SUSPENSION
We may temporarily restrict or suspend access where reasonably necessary to respond to a security incident; prevent unauthorised access; protect other users or systems; investigate suspected serious misuse; comply with law; or address a material breach of these Terms.
We will act proportionately.
Where reasonably practicable and lawful, we will notify you and provide an opportunity to address the issue.
Where circumstances permit, we will seek to allow export of legitimate professional records before permanent termination.
24. TERMINATION BY YOU
You may stop using Scrubbed at any time and may request deletion of your account.
You should export information you wish to retain before deletion.
Once deletion becomes effective and applicable recovery periods expire, restoration may be impossible.
The Privacy Notice explains what happens to information following account deletion.
25. TERMINATION BY US
We may terminate an account where you materially or repeatedly breach these Terms; continued provision would be unlawful; continued use creates a material security risk; you seriously misuse the Service; or we discontinue Scrubbed.
Except where immediate termination is reasonably necessary for security, legal or serious misuse reasons, we will endeavour to provide reasonable notice and an opportunity to export legitimate professional records.
26. IF SCRUBBED IS DISCONTINUED
We may discontinue Scrubbed or a substantial part of it.
Where reasonably practicable, we will provide active users with reasonable advance notice and an opportunity to export their professional records.
Circumstances outside our reasonable control — including insolvency, legal restrictions, severe security incidents or infrastructure failure — may make advance notice impossible.
This is why maintaining an independent backup is important.
27. CHANGES TO SCRUBBED
We may develop, modify and improve Scrubbed over time.
We may add, change or remove functionality where reasonably necessary for development; security; legal compliance; technical reasons; product improvement; or changes in third-party infrastructure.
We will not rely upon this provision to deprive users arbitrarily of the core benefit of a paid service during a paid term.
Where a material change significantly affects an existing paid service, we will provide appropriate notice and any rights required by law.
28. OUR RESPONSIBILITY TO YOU
We will provide Scrubbed with the standard of care required by applicable law.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability that cannot lawfully be excluded for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
Subject to that, we are not responsible for loss to the extent that it results from information inaccurately entered or confirmed by you; your use of Scrubbed outside its intended purpose; deliberate entry of information prohibited by these Terms; your failure to maintain a reasonable independent backup; your failure to take reasonable account-security precautions; your reliance on unreviewed automated output; your use of Scrubbed for patient diagnosis or clinical decision-making; your handling of an exported file after it leaves Scrubbed; or events outside our reasonable control, except to the extent that the relevant loss was caused or contributed to by our own breach of contract, negligence or other legal responsibility.
We do not exclude responsibility that applicable law requires us to bear.
Nothing in these Terms affects any statutory rights that apply to you and cannot lawfully be excluded.
29. INDIRECT AND BUSINESS LOSSES
Where you use Scrubbed wholly or mainly for your trade or profession, and to the extent permitted by law, we will not be responsible for indirect or consequential loss that was not reasonably foreseeable when this agreement was entered into.
Any specific financial limitation of liability applicable to future paid professional subscriptions should be stated in the applicable subscription terms rather than introduced retrospectively.
This section does not apply to liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
30. NO GUARANTEE OF PROFESSIONAL ACCEPTANCE
We do not guarantee that a particular regulator; employer; Royal College; training programme; credentialing body; insurer; or other organisation will accept a particular Scrubbed report or export as satisfying its requirements.
Users should check the requirements applicable to them.
31. PRIVACY
Our processing of personal information is explained in the Scrubbed Privacy Notice.
Acceptance of these Terms does not constitute blanket consent to every form of personal-data processing.
Where the law requires consent for particular optional processing, that choice will be obtained separately.
32. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS
We may update these Terms where reasonably necessary to reflect changes to Scrubbed; changes in law; security requirements; changes in providers; or changes in our business.
We will maintain a version number and effective date.
Where a change materially affects users' rights or obligations, we will provide reasonable notice and seek renewed acceptance where appropriate or legally required.
Changes will not operate retrospectively to deprive users of accrued legal rights.
33. CORPORATE TRANSACTIONS AND TRANSFER
We may transfer our rights and obligations relating to Scrubbed as part of a genuine restructuring, merger, investment, acquisition or sale of the Scrubbed business, provided that doing so does not unlawfully reduce your rights.
Personal information associated with any transaction remains subject to applicable data-protection law.
You may not transfer your Scrubbed account to another person without our permission.
34. SEVERABILITY
If any provision of these Terms is found unlawful or unenforceable, that provision will be treated as modified or removed only to the extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue to apply where legally possible.
35. NO WAIVER
If either party does not immediately enforce a right under these Terms, that does not necessarily waive the right to enforce it later.
36. ENTIRE AGREEMENT
These Terms, together with any subscription terms or other terms expressly incorporated into them, constitute the agreement governing your use of Scrubbed.
Nothing in this section excludes liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation or restricts rights that cannot lawfully be restricted.
37. THIRD-PARTY RIGHTS
Unless expressly stated otherwise, a person who is not a party to these Terms has no right to enforce them under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999.
38. GOVERNING LAW AND JURISDICTION
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
The courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory legal rights concerning applicable law or jurisdiction that cannot lawfully be excluded.
